Three unidentified youngsters cut a 32-year-old woman’s face with a blade for opposing eve-teasing efforts in Bhopal, police reported on Saturday. The woman’s face was reportedly stitched up 118 times. The event occurred in broad daylight while the woman and her husband were visiting TT Nagar.

Locals quickly assembled and put an end to the situation. However, when the woman and her husband exited the hotel, the teens cut her in the face with a blade and fled the scene, according to authorities. The woman is unable to communicate or even open her left eye. After the cut, she got 118 stitches, according to officials.

CM Chouhan meets with the victim and vows to take action against the offenders.

The accused has been arrested and a FIR has been filed. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, met with the victim at her home after the event. He promised that the guilty would not be spared and that they would face severe punishment. The CM further promised that the government will cover her medical expenses and gave her Rs 1 lakh for her bravery in confronting the eve-teasers.

“I paid a visit to my brave sister Seema, who fought criminals in Bhopal, and inquired about her health. Her bravery is admirable. She bravely addressed the offender who had made filthy statements. The state government would cover her medical costs and present her with a one-lakh-rupee stipend “In a tweet, Chouhan stated.

Following his meeting with the victim, he told reporters, “The accused have been arrested, but the Bhopal Police Commissioner and other officials have been told to use the harshest measures possible against them. No criminal will be let unpunished. There will be repercussions.”
