When will the Tata Curve SUV compete with the Creta and the Seltos?

Tata Motors has just released concept versions of two electric vehicles for India: the Curve and the Avinya. In India, Tata Motors will offer the electric version of the Curve alongside its gasoline and diesel models. According to rumors, the electric version of the Curve will be released within the next two years, while the gasoline-diesel variant will be released later.

The SUV will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Aster, Skoda Kushak, and Volkswagen Taigun, rumored to be based on the Nexon-like ‘X1’ platform. Although it will be built on the same basis as the Nexon, it will be very different from the current vehicle and far larger.

This SUV will measure 4.3 meters in length and its design will be influenced by the coupe. The forthcoming Tata Coupe SUV is anticipated to have the same A-pillar, windshield, and front doors as the Nexon SUV, but with larger wheels, longer doors, and a completely redesigned rear with larger overhangs. It will also have larger seats, extra legroom, and a larger trunk for passengers.

As the Gen 2 design is supposed to support alternative body shapes and a larger battery pack, the mid-sized SUV coupe with an electric engine might be supplied with a larger battery pack with a range of 400-500 km on a single charge. It can also reduce fast-charging times in comparison to the Ziptron-based Nexon EV and Tigor EV.

The SUV is anticipated to feature a sunroof, a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, ambient lighting, a multi-function steering wheel, a new surround sound system, and a fully digital instrument console. Safety Features may also include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and ESP, front and rear parking sensors, a tire pressure monitoring system, etc.

Also available for this SUV are gasoline and diesel engines. In reality, the firm has begun building the 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline engine that will likely be available for this SUV. In addition, it will likely offer a 1.5-liter diesel engine option, similar to the Nexon. The business may also exhibit it during the 2023 Auto Expo prior to its release.
