What We Know So Far About The New Jeep Meridian Seven-Seat SUV

The India-spec Meridian is set to be unveiled tomorrow by Jeep India. The company recently revealed the name of its seven-seat SUV, which we first reported on in July of last year, and which you can read about here.

The 2022 Jeep Meridian will essentially be a seven-seat version of the Compass SUV with a longer wheelbase. The model’s production will begin in May, with a launch and price announcement scheduled for mid-2022. The model was spotted testing in India and abroad, and spy images of her can be found here.

The new Jeep Meridian SUV will have a signature seven-box grille, LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, new front and rear bumpers, fog lights, new black alloy wheels, wrap-around LED tail lights, boot-lid mounted number plate recess, horizontally placed reflectors on the rear bumper, and an integrated spoiler on the outside.

While Jeep hasn’t revealed any information about the Meridian SUV’s interior, we expect it to include a panoramic sunroof, a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an electrically adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and a fully digital instrument console. Six-seat and seven-seat layouts may also be available.

A diesel engine is most likely to power the upcoming Jeep Meridian, but a petrol engine isn’t out of the question. A six-speed manual transmission and a nine-speed torque-converter automatic transmission are both possible options. There will also be a 4×4 system available.
