Vinod Dua, a veteran journalist, died at the age of 67

Mr Dua is survived by two daughters, comedian Mallika Dua and clinical psychologist Bakul Dua.
Vinod Dua, a veteran journalist, died after a long illness caused by a Covid infection, his daughter Mallika Dua confirmed on social media. On the advice of doctors, the 67-year-old journalist was transferred to Apollo Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in Delhi last week. “Our irreverent, fearless, and extraordinary father, Vinod Dua, has passed away,” Mallika Dua wrote on Instagram, adding that the cremation would take place tomorrow at noon at the Lodhi crematorium in the capital.


With stints at Doordarshan and NDTV, Mr Dua was a pioneer in Hindi journalism. He was most recently known for his political commentary on digital media platforms The Wire and HW News in web shows.

He is now in heaven with our mother and his beloved wife Chinna, where they will continue to sing, cook, travel, and annoy each other “Mallika Dua expressed herself on Instagram.
Following a Covid infection during the second wave earlier this year, Vinod Dua and his wife, radiologist Padmavati Dua, were hospitalised in Gurugram. Ms. Dua died in June, and Mr. Dua has been battling his health ever since.
