TVS introduces a new electric scooter
Recognizing that the EV wave is likely to intensify in the coming years, TVS has devised a strategy to invest Rs 1,000 crore in expanding its EV portfolio. A premium electric scooter based on the Creon Concept will be one of the products. As previously stated, the Creon Concept electric scooter was on display at the 2018 Auto Expo.
Now that the conditions are favourable, TVS’s new electric scooter may see the light of day. It is expected to be released next year. The company claims that its Creon-based electric scooter will have advanced connected features. It will compete with the Ather 450X and the upcoming Ola electric scooter.
Creon Concept debuted at the 2018 Auto Show as a high-performance electric scooter. The central concept was to ensure long-term mobility without sacrificing performance.
Creon Concept specifications and features
The electric scooter was outfitted with three advanced lithium-ion batteries in its concept form. The batteries generated a total of 12 kW of power. One of the most important characteristics of the batteries was their ability to hold a high charge per volume. The electric motor was also cutting-edge, capable of propelling the scooter from 0 to 60 kmph in 5.1 seconds.
On a full charge, the Creon Concept electric scooter has a range of 80 kilometres. The batteries were capable of fast charging, allowing for an 80 percent charge in just 60 minutes. It is possible that when TVS launches its new electric scooter next year, these figures will be higher.

The new TVS electric scooter will sit above the existing iQube. It will be available at a premium price. TVS’s entry-level electric scooter, the iQube, will remain the iQube. iQube is expected to be available at 1,000 dealerships across the country by the end of this fiscal year. iQube is currently available in a few cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Pune, Chennai, and Coimbatore.
In addition to the Creon-based electric scooter, TVS is developing a new line of electric two- and three-wheelers. It also includes a high-performance electric motorcycle. These new electric vehicles will be equipped with battery packs ranging in capacity from 5 to 25kW. They will be produced in a new facility that is currently being built within the existing Hosur plant. These electric vehicles are designed and developed by a team of 500-600 engineers.
