Stubbs, a gifted middle-order hitter, will cost INR 20 lakh.
Mumbai Indians have recruited South African Tristan Stubbs as a replacement for Tymal Mills, who has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2022 due to an ankle injury.
Mills appeared in five matches this season for Mumbai, taking six wickets at an economy rate of 11.17. He last appeared against the Lucknow Super Giants on April 16, conceding 54 runs in three wicketless overs. However, it is understood that the injury is mild and that he will be available for Sussex’s first T20 Blast match on May 26.
Stubbs, 21, is a gifted middle-order batsman who will join Mumbai for INR 20,000,000. (approx USD 26,000). He has had a strong domestic season, collecting 293 runs for Warriors in the just finished CSA Challenge with an average of 48.83 and a strike rate of 183.12.
He has accumulated 506 runs and three half-centuries in 17 T20s with a strike rate of 157.14. Additionally, he has appeared in eight first-class and eleven List A matches.
He was a member of South Africa’s A squad assembled for their current trip of Zimbabwe.
