The Kia Carens MPV is the South Korean automaker’s fourth vehicle under the Hyundai umbrella.
On Tuesday, Kia India announced the trim details and technical specifications for its fourth vehicle in India, the Kia Carens MPV, which was debuted just a few days ago. Bookings for the Kia Carens MPV are slated to begin on January 14, 2022. This MPV will be offered in five trim levels, according to the manufacturer: Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus.

Competitors of the Kia Carens
Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700 would be among the Kia Carens’ competitors. It will also take on Mahindra Marazzo, Toyota Innova Crysta, and Maruti Suzuki XL6 as competitors.
Trims for the Kia Carens
There will be five trim levels available for the three-row Kia Carens MPV. Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus are the options. In Premium to Luxury trims, the Kia Carens will be available as a seven-seater, while the Luxury Plus trim will be available in both six and seven-seater configurations.

The Kia Carens MPV will come in eight different colour schemes. Three of these models will be brand new to the Kia lineup. The Kia Carens MPV is said to have the longest wheelbase in its class, and it competes with well-known vehicles from higher sectors. It has a length of 4,540 mm, a width of 1,800 mm, a height of 1,708 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,780 mm, allowing for comfortable sitting even in the third row.

The Kia Carens MPV features a completely unique look that stands out from the other three models that the South Korean automaker has introduced in India, namely the Seltos, Sonet, and Carnival. It comes with a design that resembles that of a huge SUV.
The automobile foregoes Kia’s traditional tiger-nose grille in favour of a more regularised radiator grille flanked by slim LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. A sleek chrome-accented humanity line runs alongside the grille.
Other major aesthetic elements in the Kia Carens include chrome door handles, turn indication integrated wing mirrors, side sills, flared wheel arches, sporty alloy wheels, side body cladding, elegant delta-shaped LED taillights connected by a large reflector, and a muscular black bumper with chrome trim.

The Kia Carens MPV has a beautiful and luxury interior that provides plenty of space and comfort for its passengers. It comes with a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen navigation system with next-generation Kia Connect, a Bose premium sound system with eight speakers, a smart pure air purifier with virus and bacteria protection, ventilated front seats, one-touch easy electric tumble in the second row, and a SkyLight sunroof, among other features.
The luxury leather seat and upholstery, as well as the dual-tone colour scheme, add to the cabin’s appeal. The Kia Connect onboard this MPV, according to Kia, will include 66 connected car capabilities. It has the longest wheelbase in its class, so even third-row passengers will be comfortable.
The Kia Carens has a powerful engine
Three distinct powerplant options are offered for the Kia Carens MPV. A 1.5-litre Smartstream petrol engine, a 1.4-litre TGDi Smartstream petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre CRDi VGT diesel engine are among them. This Kia MPV will be available with a six-speed manual transmission, a seven-speed DCT automatic transmission, and a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 115 PS at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm at 4,500 rpm and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The 1.4-liter petrol engine will be available with a six-speed manual transmission as well as a seven-speed DCT. It can produce 140 PS at 6,000 rpm and 242 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 3,200 rpm.
A six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission will be available for the 1.5-litre CRDi VGT diesel engine. This engine generates 115 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 2,750 rpm.
