After a long wait, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the Toyota Fortuner GR Sport, a new model of its popular full-size SUV Fortuner GR-S. This is the Fortuner’s most expensive version. The price has been set at Rs 48.43 lakh ex-showroom. It costs approximately Rs 3.8 lakh more than the Fortuner Legender 4X4). The new SUV was released with numerous cosmetic changes. The GR in Fortuner GR-S stands for Toyota’s racing division, Gazoo Racing. Tell us everything there is to know about this SUV.
In Fortuner GR-S, what’s new?
The Legend is the inspiration for the new Fortuner GR-S. It has a completely different appearance than the regular Fortuner model. It gets a new air dam, a redesigned bumper, and a new fog lamp cluster on the front end. The GR logo can be found all over the SUV. The GR is visible in many places, including the SUV’s front grille, infotainment system, speedometer, start/stop button, seats, and back. The dark-finish dual-tone alloy wheels look similar to the Legend. The GR-S model has red brake callipers with the GR logo on them.
A 2.8-litre diesel engine will be installed
The suspension setup of the new Toyota Fortuner GR-top-end S’s variant has been tweaked. It does, however, come with the same 2.8-litre diesel engine and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. This engine produces 201 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and 500 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,800 rpm. A four-wheel-drive (4WD) system is available on the Fortuner GR Sport. It will compete with the MG Gloster, Mahindra Alturas, and the upcoming Jeep Meridian SUV in this segment of the Indian market.
