Tork Kratos: Electric bike to launch tomorrow

Tork Motors of Pune has finally announced the launch date of the much-anticipated electric motorcycle Kratos (Kratos). Tork Kratos will be released on January 26th, Republic Day.
Bookings for the Kratos will begin soon after the official launch. Customers can reserve this bike online. The Tork Kratos electric motorcycle is expected to be delivered in March.

A 6kW DC axial flux motor with 27 Nm of torque will power this electric bike. This bike’s top speed is 100 kmph. And it claims to go 100 km on a single charge.

The Tork Kratos electric bike will have an IP67-rated lithium-ion battery pack protected by an aluminium alloy casing. In one hour, Kratos’ battery will be fully charged.

Strong Points
The Kratos will have a new body with split seats and LED lighting. The bike will also have Tork’s own operating system, TIROS (Tork Intuitive Response Operating System). This system will track and analyse each ride. It will track real-time power usage, power management, and range forecasting. The 4.3-inch TFT screen will also have features like geo-fencing, navigation, and anti-theft.

Tork Kratos was formerly T6X. It was first shown to the public in 2016 and has since been undergoing research and development. It’s being billed as India’s first home-grown motorcycle. Kratos has angular modern design. Tork Motors’ upcoming electric bike will also have telescopic front forks, monoshock rear, and disc brakes on both wheels. The company also used its newly designed trellis frame.

After launch, the Kratos will join electric motorcycles from leading brands like Revolt and Utravoilette. The bike will appeal to Indian buyers as it has been developed by a brand with a strong motorsport heritage. The bike will be built in Chakan, Maharashtra, near Pune. For the first three years, Tork plans to sell 5,000-10,000 units annually.

price range
The Tork Kratos was launched at a price of Rs 1.25 lakh ex-showroom. However, in 2022, it is expected to be priced between Rs 1.8 lakh and Rs 2 lakh. The e-bike will also be subsidised by the federal and state governments, bringing the price down slightly.
