According to a police official, the incident occurred on Navle Bridge in the Narhe area.

The truck driver and his assistant fled, leaving the vehicle behind, while the three victims died on the spot.

Hemant Talele, Nitin Dhawale, and Chetan Solanki were identified as the victims.

“The truck was heading for Satara. It had run out of gas and broken down while driving up the bridge two hours before the incident “According to a police official from the Sinhgad Road police station.

“When locals told them there was a petrol pump a little way behind,” he said, “the driver and his assistant got some diesel.”

When the truck rammed into three men standing on the roadside and damaged three cars, the driver began driving in reverse on the downward slope to reach the petrol pump.

The official stated, “We have filed an offence against the driver under relevant sections of the IPC and the Motor Vehicles Act.”
