The new BMW X5 will be produced at the BMW Group plant in Chennai and will be available across all BMW India dealerships. The current model of the BMW X5 in the Indian market costs between Rs 98 lakh and Rs 1 crore. The facelift version could cost more than this. In the Indian market, the BMW X5 facelift will compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q5, Volvo XC90, Jaguar F-Pace, Land Rover Discovery and Lexus RX, etc. The company unveiled the BMW X5 and X6 facelift in the global market in February this year.

First look of the car shown in the teaser

The company has uploaded a teaser of the luxury SUV on the social media platform. It shows a glimpse of the front, rear and interior of the car. The company’s signature kidney grille has been given at the front of the car. It gets projector LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) on either side. Connected LED tail lights have been given in the rear of the car. Its bumper has been redesigned.

The BMW X5 facelift will compete against the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q5, Volvo XC90, Jaguar F-Pace, Land Rover Discovery and Lexus RX in the Indian market. The company unveiled the BMW X5 and X6 facelift in the global market in February this year.

BMW X5 Interior & Features

Minor changes have been made to the interior of the MW X5 facelift. The dashboard features a curved single-glass surface for the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. This now includes a 12.3-inch digital console and a new 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system runs on the latest iDrive OS8 software. Along with this, features like Harman Kardon music system, connected car tech and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto are available.

Apart from this, many luxury features like LED ambient lighting in the center console, panoramic sunroof with glass-cut control buttons, ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, 4-zone automatic climate control have been given. Multiple leather upholstery options will be available with the vehicle in India.

For safety in the car, 6 airbags, cruise control, parking and reverse assistant, surround view camera, drive recorder, remote parking, electrically differential lock, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent control, two-axle air suspension, stability control, Features like cornering brake control, electric parking brake with auto hold and ISOFIX child mounts have been provided.

BMW X5: Performance

The X5 facelift will come with two engine options. It will be powered by a 3.0-litre petrol engine, which generates 340 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque.

Apart from this, there will also be an option of 4.4-liter V8 diesel engine with the car, which generates power of 265 PS and torque of 620 Nm.

Talking about the transmission, both the engines have been tuned with an 8 speed automatic gearbox. The car will come with 4-wheel drive.
