The target demographic for Toyota’s Hilux, which is based on the IMV-2 platform that also underlies the Fortuner and Innova Crysta, could be very different. This pick-up has a large road presence, both in terms of proportions and design, indicating that it might be a versatile player both within city borders and beyond.

In India, the Hilux is projected to share several essential components with the Fortuner and be priced around the Rs 30 lakh level. In terms of rivalry, the Hilux will face up against the Isuzu V-Cross.
