The Kawasaki Versys 650 is expected to cost between Rs 30,000 and Rs 50,000 more than the previous model.
By the end of this month, Kawasaki India will unveil the Versys 650 2022. Kawasaki has made some significant changes to the model, which has been long overdue.
What’s New in The Kawasaki Versys 650 for 2022?
The Kawasaki Versys 650 receives a new, more aggressive fairing inspired by the Versys 1000. It has a new four-way adjustable windscreen and twin LED headlights. Except for a new engine cowl and new graphics to help distinguish it from the outgoing Verys 650, the rest of the bodywork is the same as before.
The Versys 650 also receives a major update in the form of electronic rider aids, with the Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) system being installed for improved safety. It has two modes: Mode 1 is less intrusive, while Mode 2 provides early intervention in low-grip situations. It is also possible to turn off the system.
The addition of a new TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity rounds out the list of updates.
Engine and Chassis for The Kawasaki Versys 650 in 2022
The Kawasaki Versys is mechanically identical to the previous model. It has a 649cc parallel-twin engine with 66hp and 61Nm of torque. In addition, the chassis and suspension are identical. The Versys 650’s Showa adjustable suspension is one of its strongest features, especially when compared to competitors like the Triumph Tiger Sport 660, which lacks an adjustable fork. The new Versys 650’s braking system is also carried over from the previous model.
Price and Availability for The Kawasaki Versys 650 in 2022
Expect the 2022 Versys 650 to cost around Rs 30,000-50,000 more than the current Versys 650’s retail price of Rs 7.15 lakh, given the updates it brings to the table. In fact, Kawasaki India recently announced a Rs 70,000 discount, lowering the price to Rs 6.45 lakh. That offer, however, was only available until the end of last month. The new Versys 650 is expected to be available by the end of this month, according to Kawasaki.
