Bookings for the Carens will open on January 14 and will be available in two seating configurations.
The Carens MPV, Kia’s first vehicle for 2022, will be unveiled early next month. The MPV’s engine, gearbox, and variant information have been revealed by the Korean company, and consumers may book it from January 14 at Kia dealerships.

Engine and powertrain options for the Kia Carens
The Carens MPV will be offered with a choice of diesel and petrol engines, according to Kia. A 115hp 1.5-litre petrol engine will be standard, with a 140hp 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine available in higher trim levels. A 1.5-litre diesel engine with 115 horsepower will also be available on the Carens.
On the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, a six-speed manual transmission will be standard, with the latter also receiving a six-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. Only the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol will come with a seven-speed DCT transmission.

Kia also revealed that the Carens will be available in five trim levels: Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus, with six- and seven-seat configurations available depending on the trim level.
Here’s a quick rundown of the features available on each variant
16-inch steel wheels with covers, two-tone black and beige interiors with indigo accents, semi-leatherette seats, second row seat one-touch electric tumble, a 7.5-inch digital instrument cluster, six airbags, ABS, ESC, all-wheel disc brakes, rear parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system will all be standard on the base Carens trim.
The Prestige trim adds an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a 12.5-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 6-speaker sound system, a rear view camera, Outside Rear View Mirrors with integrated turn signals, and front parking sensors to the Premium trim’s features.
This equipment also includes 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, several drive modes (Normal, Eco, and Sport), rear washer and wiper, and a rear defogger, with the latter only available on DCT models.
LED headlights, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Kia Connect UI, 64-color ambient cabin lighting, an air purifier, telescopic steering wheel adjustment, complete leatherette seats, and seatback tables for the second row are all included in the Luxury specification.
The top-of-the-line Luxury Plus trim comes with an 8-speaker BOSE sound system, a cooled wireless charging, ventilated seats, rain-sensing wipers, and a standard sunroof.
Booking information, projected price, and debut date for the Kia Carens
The Carens will go on sale on January 14th, and we expect Kia to price it between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 20 lakh for the entry-level variation and Rs 20 lakh for the top-spec diesel automatic trim. Carens will have a price announcement early next month.
