The upgraded engine of the Ducati Panigale V4 is the source of the sports bike’s increased power.
At the Ducati Globe Premiere 2022, the latest Ducati Panigale V4 was formally unveiled to the world. The Panigale V4 2022 is the final step in the Borgo Panigale sports bike’s unique route, and it draws on Ducati Corse’s extensive experience, as well as continual knowledge and technology transfer from the racing world to production bikes.
The latest Ducati Panigale V4 improvements cover a wide range of topics, including aerodynamics, ergonomics, engine, chassis, and electronics. According to the company, the goal during development was to create a bike that was not only faster on the track, but also intuitive and less taxing for a wide spectrum of riders.
Aerodynamics, in particular, was given a lot of thought. The Ducati Panigale V4 now features more efficient double-profile design wings that are more compact and slimmer. Redesigned extraction sockets in the lower portion of the fairing increase the cooling system, which improves engine performance during track days.
Then there’s the new seat, which is flatter and has a different finish. When braking, these provide more assistance to the rider. The form of the tank has also been modified towards the back, claiming to better anchor the rider.
A redesigned engine with an improved lubrication circuit and a new oil pump that decreases power absorption is at the heart of the 2022. This Desmosedici Stradale engine now produces 215.5 horsepower at 13,000 rpm, an increase of 1.5 horsepower over the previous generation. Torque is also available at 123.6 Nm.
A new gearbox is in charge of it all, with ratio lengthening in the first, second, and sixth gears. This, according to Ducati, improves the bike’s handling in tight turns while also allowing it to reach a top speed of 5 kmph faster than the 2021 model.
There are four engine configurations to choose from: Full, High, Medium, and Low. These are known as Power Modes, and they allow a rider to get the most out of the Panigale V4 on the track as well as on everyday road rides.
There are also new Ohlins NPX 25/30 electronically controlled pressurised forks, retuned racing exhaust systems, 3-spoke forged Aluminium alloy wheels, and an extra Info Mode, among other improvements and updates.
The new Ducati Panigale V4 will be released in December with all of these features, as well as changes to the outer profile. Ducati Performance. accessories can be added to owners’ bikes to make them even more powerful.
