The C3 will compete against vehicles such as the Tata Punch, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnate, among others.
Citroen India has released more information about the upcoming C3 and announced that it will go on sale on July 20, 2022. The C3 is Citroen’s first mass-market model for India, and it will compete in our market against high-riding hatchbacks and the lower end of the compact SUV segment. Citroen dealers will begin taking reservations for the C3 on July 1, 2020.

What has been announced about the Citroen C3’s launch in India?
The French brand has been steadily expanding its presence in India, and it has now announced that it will have as many as 20 outlets spread across 19 Indian cities, catering to both existing and new customers. Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, Gurugram, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Indore, Surat, Nagpur, Visakhapatnam, Calicut, Coimbatore, and Chennai will all have Citroen showrooms.
The C3 is built at the Thiruvallur plant near Chennai, and its powertrain is sourced from PSA’s Hosur facility, as we previously reported. The brand now confirms that up to 90% of the model is localised. Citroen also claims that the C3 has been tested for over 25 lakh kilometres and has passed over 250 quality checks.
In India, the C3 will be available with either a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 82 horsepower or a 110-hp 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with 110 horsepower. More information on the C3’s powertrain and dimensions can be found here.
Among the features are a 10-inch touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dedicated USB charging slots for front and rear passengers. There are six exterior paint color options for the Citroen C3, two of which are dual-tone shades. The interiors will be available in two color schemes: all-grey for the lower variants and grey-orange for the higher variants.
Citroen India is betting big on customization for the C3, announcing three packs with 50 options, as well as 70 accessories available through dealers.
