Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced plans to fill 6,000 positions in the state police department, prompting the recruitment notice. Sarma had previously announced at an Assam CM review meeting on November 23 that a total of 1000 new police quarters would be built, as well as an infrastructure upgrade for the DGP and Commissioner offices.

Official Notice for Assam Police SI Recruitment

“Candidates numbering only five times the number of posts in respect of each category (Unreserved, OBC/MOBC, SC, S.T. (P), S.T. (H), and EWS), both male and transgender, and female, will be called for PST (Physical Standard Test) and PET (Physical Efficiency Test) on a merit basis,” according to the official notification.
