The Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka administered him the oath of workplace and secrecy to Gehlot on the Raj Bhavan within the presence of outgoing Governor Vala, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, his cupboard colleagues, MPs, MLAs and senior officers of the state authorities.
The 73-year previous Gehlot was the Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment on the centre, and was chief of the House in Rajya Sabha earlier than assuming the brand new function within the southern state.
