Model 3 outsold popular models such as the Volkswagen Polo and Golf, Ford Fiesta and Puma, Kia Sportage, and Toyota Yaris in the United Kingdom in 2021. According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), while 2021 was a banner year for electric vehicles in the UK, with 190,000 sold, the Tesla Model 3 was the first EV to crack the top ten for overall sales.

According to the Guardian, car sales in the UK in 2020 and 2021 will be at their lowest level since 1992, due to a variety of factors including a chip shortage and the pandemic. But that doesn’t change the fact that the Model 3 is gaining traction in the UK, where motorists are increasingly considering battery-powered vehicles.

Tesla has a massive lead over competitors in the EV space all over the world and isn’t about to give it up.
