Its design is inspired by the 1980s’ DR Big 750 and 800 adventure bikes. It has a new square-shaped headlamp with a taller windscreen, and the curvy fuel tank of the previous model has been replaced with a boxy tank. Furthermore, the faring on the beak now appears to be beefier. Suzuki has also added more features, such as a full-color LCD display to replace the dated-looking semi-digital instrument cluster. It also gets a new ECU with a faster processor, better traction control, and three riding modes.

Despite the fact that the new V-Strom 1050 is still powered by a 1037cc V-twin engine, the power and torque figures have been increased to 105bhp and 100Nm. The engine now complies with Euro5/BS6. The V-Strom is available in two trim levels: standard with road tyres and XT with dual-purpose tyres. The latter also includes a few extra pieces of gear that make it more adventure-ready. Inverted forks and monoshocks are used for suspension, while disc brakes are used on both ends of the vehicle, with dual-channel ABS as standard.
