Sonu Sood’s Sister Malvika Joins Congress in Front of CM Channi, Sidhu

Malvika Sood, the sister of Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, joined the Congress on Monday in the presence of Punjab Leader Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, ahead of the Punjab elections. Sidhu later met up with the siblings at their home in Moga.

On Monday, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi remarked, “Politics is about helping the people, and Malvika Sood has joined the party exclusively with this goal.” “There should be no doubt who the Congress candidate from Moga will be now,” he continued.

Sonu Sood’s appointment as Punjab’s “state icon” was revoked by the Election Commission last week. However, the Bollywood star stated that he voluntarily stepped down since a family member was running for office in the next assembly elections. The EC named him the state’s “icon” almost a year ago.

Punjab’s elections will be held on February 14 and the results will be announced on March 10

Even while the identity of the party’s next chief minister remains a mystery, the ruling Congress has yet to release its first list of candidates for the election. Apart from the difficulty of proclaiming a Chief Ministerial face, the grand old party has already held two screening committee meetings and stated that the party leaders have reached a consensus for at least 50 seats. The Congress’s main difficulty will be deciding whether to keep existing CM Channi or designate Sidhu as the new CM.
