Shabaash Mithu Trailer: Taapsee Pannu is Believable as Cricket Legend Mithali Raj, Watch Trailer

Shabaash Mithu stars Taapsee Pannu as former cricketer Mithali Raj and portrays the story of her climb through adversity in an engaging way.

The trailer for Taapsee Pannu’s Shabaash Mithu is out, and it looks intriguing with its riveting storytelling. It tells the story of Mithali Raj, a recently retired cricketer, and her trials and triumphs. Mithali is played by Taapsee Pannu, who has a tan, strong batting abilities, and determination written on her face.

The film, directed by Srijit Mukherji, stars Taapsee Pannu as Mithali, the cricketer who changed the game not only in India but around the world.

Taapsee in action on the field, striking fours and sixes one after the other, opens the two-minute and 44-second trailer. It quickly shifts to Mithali’s childhood, when she is a Tamilian who is caught off guard when she catches a ball hit by her older brother.

When her aptitude is recognised by her elders and she begins her training, her fellow trainees dismiss her as the “English medium” girl. It’s inspiring to see how she rises above all obstacles and even raises her voice to demand that the female cricketers be given team jerseys with their own names on them instead of the male players.

There are those cricketers who inspire you and convince you that if they can do it, so can you! Then there’s Mithali, who did it all in her signature graceful style while also changing the game of cricket in terms of female presence.”

As a fan, I was simply too fortunate to be able to see her incredible 23-year journey on camera, which taught me so much about tenacity and perseverance. We will never be able to thank her enough.” On July 15, Shabaash Mithu will be released in theatres.
