According to news outlets citing officials, the Jharkhand government has ordered all schools in the state to close on Monday due to the Bharat Bandh called over the Agnipath recruitment scheme.
They also added that the ongoing examinations for grades 9 and 11 had been postponed.
On Sunday, School Education and Literacy Department Secretary Rajesh Kumar Sharma was quoted as saying, “In light of the bandh called by various organisations, it has been decided that all government and private schools will remain closed on Monday.”
“We don’t want any trouble for school pupils, especially those who travel by bus.” In Bihar, children were forced to disembark from a bus that had been set on fire,” he added. He stated that new dates for the postponed tests would be disclosed soon.
On Sunday, the All India Students Federation (AISF) called a bandh in Jharkhand in protest of the Agnipath plan. However, it was met with a lacklustre reception.
