Sarfaraz Khan resumed his Ranji Trophy run-scoring binge on Day 2 of the second quarterfinal against Uttarakhand, striking another century to put Mumbai in command.

On Day 2 of the second quarterfinal against Uttarakhand on Tuesday, Sarfaraz Khan resumed his run-scoring binge in the Ranji Trophy, scoring another century, his third of the season, to put Mumbai in command.

The teenager has already scored 704 runs at an astounding average of 140.80 in four matches (5 innings), including three hundreds and a half-century. This season, he has a top score of 275 and has helped Mumbai reach the knockout stages. Sarfaraz Khan was removed for 153 runs off 205 balls on Tuesday, including 14 fours and four sixes in his innings.

Sarfaraz’s bat skills sparked outrage on Twitter, with fans and media praising him.

Sarfaraz Khan has played 10 Ranji Trophy games since 2020, including the current quarterfinal against Uttarakhand, and his record is just incredible.

Mumbai won the toss and chose to bat in the current quarterfinal. Things didn’t get off to a good start when captain Prithvi Shaw was caught for a quickfire 21. Mumbai were reduced to 64 for two after the dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal.

The ship was steadied by Armaan Jaffer and Suved Parkar, who was making his first-class debut, but the former was dismissed for 60 minutes.

Then came Parkar and Sarfaraz Khan’s amazing 267-run stand.
