It’s suggested that you get a 6,000mAh battery.
Samsung’s return to the budget smartphone segment will be bolstered by the announcement that the Galaxy M33 5G will be the company’s next addition to the sub-Rs.15,000 segment by the end of February.
On Twitter, prolific leaker Mukul Sharma, who goes by the handle @StuffListings, shared an update stating that the Samsung Galaxy M33 5G will be available in India by the end of February. Of course, the leaker stated that this will only happen “if everything goes according to plan.”
The handset was spotted on BIS listings with the model number SM-M336BU/DS, with the last two alphabets indicating a dual SIM option, and entered the assembly line at Samsung’s Greater Noida plant in India last month. The device was also listed on Geekbench, where it received 726 points in single-core tests and 1830 points in multi-core tests.
For the time being, there hasn’t been much in the way of design leaks, but it’s safe to assume that the Galaxy M33 5G will look and feel similar to its immediate predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy M32 5G, which launched in June 2021.
According to various leaks and information from listing websites, the Samsung Galaxy M33 5G is expected to have a 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display. Of course, given that Samsung appears to be positioning it ahead of the current model, we expect some level of upgrade on this front.
Given that Samsung has been making a concerted effort to reclaim some of the ground lost to cheaper Chinese handsets in this high-volume segment, a higher refresh rate AMOLED panel could work well for this device, in our opinion.
The device will be powered by the Exynos 1200 5G processor and run on Samsung’s OneUI 4.0 skin, which is based on Android 12. The phone will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy M33 5G could have a quad-camera setup with a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra wide-angle shooter, a 5MP shooter, and a 2MP shooter. For video calls and selfies, we could see a 13MP sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G appears to carry over its predecessor’s massive 6000mAh battery. If the company truly hopes to sell the upcoming handset as an upgrade to its existing model, which retails for Rs. 14,999, we believe it should include 25W fast-charging support as an out-of-the-box solution.
