Rob Liefeld Confirms ‘Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness’ Rumors

On social media, a blurry and low-resolution image of actor Tom Cruise in a motion-capture suit has been circulating.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s’ multiverse’ was first introduced in the Hollywood film ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ and it appears that Benedict Cumberbatch’s ‘Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness’ will take things to a new level.

The creator of the comic book character ‘Deadpool,’ Rob Liefeld, appears to back up the film rumours. On YouTube’s ‘The Big Thing with Kristian Harloff,’ Liefeld seemed to imply that things are being leaked while Marvel is testing the film with audiences.

“Here’s the deal, you all know, I want to know — have either of you been caught trying to sneak into a screening of Doctor Strange 2?” Liefeld said, according to The Indian Express.

There had been speculation that the film would feature a multiverse Avengers team. For example, a blurry and low-resolution image circulating on social media claimed to show actor Tom Cruise wearing a motion-capture suit. Man assumed he was portraying an alternate reality version of Tony Stark in ‘Doctor Strange 2.’

‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ directed by Sam Raimi and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, is the sequel to 2016’s ‘Doctor Strange.’ It deals with the Multiverse, as the title suggests, and at the very least features Strange Supreme, a darker, more evil version of Doctor Strange, similar to the one seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe animated series ‘What If…?’

Scott Derrickson, the director of the first film, had agreed to return, but due to creative differences with Marvel, he was replaced by Raimi. Raimi was brought in as the director of the wildly successful “Spider-Man trilogy” (starring Tobey Maguire).

Wanda, played by Elizabeth Olsen, will also make an appearance in the movie. The ninth and final episode of ‘WandaVision,’ in which she was able to project her astral form like Doctor Strange in the post-credit scene, set the stage for her return.
