The Delhi Capitals’ first batter David Warner saved his best for SunRisers Hyderabad, scoring an unbeaten 92 to help Rishabh Pant’s side record 207/3 in 20 overs. The side then successfully defended the total, winning by 21 runs and climbing to fifth place in the IPL points table. Throughout his inning, Warner executed an innovative shot while altering his bat grip and converting to a right-handed batter. Many on Twitter are now hailing the shot as the “shot of the tournament.”

Warner struck the hit in the penultimate over of Delhi’s innings off Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s bowling.

Warner changed his posture and appeared to be setting himself up for a ramp shot on the opening ball of the 19th over. However, Bhuvneshwar bowled it wide, trapping the hitter, but he managed to get his bat down in time as the ball sped for a boundary towards the third man region.

Immediately after the shot was made, several fans flocked to Twitter to declare it the “shot of the tournament.”

The latter won the toss and choose to bowl in the match between Delhi Capitals and SunRisers Hyderabad. Warner and Rovman Powell struck unbeaten 92 and 67 runs respectively as DC scored 207/3 in 20 overs.

Khaleel Ahmed took three wickets with the ball in hand as DC reduced SRH to 186/8, winning by 21 runs. Nicholas Pooran led the SunRisers with a 62-run knock.

Delhi Capitals have now climbed to sixth place in the Indian Premier League points rankings. On Sunday, they will face the Chennai Super Kings.
