RBL Bank, a private lender, announced the appointment of seasoned banker R Subramaniakumar as its new managing director and chief executive officer in a regulatory filing today.
Vishwahir Ahuja, the long-serving MD and CEO of RBL Bank NSE -0.26 percent, resigned down nearly six months ago. For a term of three years, the appointment has been made.
“Under Section 35B of the Banking Regulation Act 1949, the board of directors has authorized the appointment of Mr. R Subramaniakumar as Managing Director & CEO of the Bank for a period of three years with effect from the date of his taking charge,” stated the readout.
Subramaniakumar was previously the administrator of Dewan Housing Financial Corporation Limited and the former head of business transformation at Punjab National Bank NSE -0.64 percent (DHFL).
He has 40 years of expertise, including roles as Executive Director of Indian Bank NSE 0.86 percent and Indian Overseas Bank, Managing Director and CEO of Indian Overseas Bank NSE 0.29 percent, and Independent Director of the UC Pension Fund Limited.
