PM Modi Visits Major Dhyan Chand Sports University In Meerut

PM Modi was seen working out his muscles as he tried gym equipment at the Major Dhyan Chand Sports University site in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to Meerut to lay the foundation stone for the UP’s Major Dhyan Chand Sports University. PM Modi toured the stalls set up at the university site ahead of the launch, inspecting all of the artefacts and sports equipment on display.

The Prime Minister tried gym training equipment and was seen working out in one of the never-before-seen moments. PM Modi looked at footballs, cricket bats, and chess boards, among other sporting goods, at other stalls. He also spoke with their manufacturers and learned about the equipment’s specifications. The Prime Minister resembled a sports fan, showing a keen interest in trying out and learning about each item.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation for the Major Dhyan Chand Sports University.
The Prime Minister, according to a statement, is instilling a sporting culture and building world-class sporting infrastructure throughout the country. The establishment of the Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut will be a significant step toward realising this goal. The university will be built in the villages of Salawa and Kaili in Meerut’s Sardhana town at a cost of around Rs. 700 crore.

It will be outfitted with modern, cutting-edge sports infrastructure. A synthetic Hockey ground, Football ground, Basketball ground, areas designated for Volleyball, Handball, and Kabaddi, a Lawn tennis court, Gymnasium hall, Synthetic running stadium, Swimming pool, Multipurpose hall, and a Cycling Velodrome will be among the facilities.

It will also house shooting, squash, gymnastics, weightlifting, archery, canoeing, and kayaking facilities, among others, with a capacity to train 1,080 athletes, including 540 females and 540 males.
