PC George was detained for Making anti-Muslim Remarks

Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvananthapuram Fort police detained senior politician P C George on Friday for making communal statements against the Muslim community during an event in the district.

The leader, who was apprehended on Sunday morning from his Erattupetta house, was brought to the Nandavanam AR Camp here.

PC George was charged with non-bailable offences and his arrest was filed under section 153 A of the Indian Penal Code. He will soon be brought before the magistrate.

PC’s car is assaulted with eggs; the BJP comes to his defence

While the BJP lauded the controversial politician for his vitriolic remarks against Muslims, the car in which he was escorted to the Fort Police Station in the state capital was attacked with eggs by DYFI supporters.

At Vattapara, on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram, BJP supporters blocked the police caravan before they stepped forward to congratulate George, who was seated in the car backed by cops. Right-wing demonstrators were spotted wrapping a shawl around the man’s shoulder.

At Nalanchira, the convoy was confronted by DYFI activists. They chanted anti-Semitic chants and brandished black flags. Soon after, the car was pelted by an egg hail.

Fort police lodged a complaint against the leader on the direction of state police chief Anil Kant.

P K Firos, the state general secretary of the Youth League, filed a complaint against George on Saturday with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Anil Kant for insulting the community.

George stated during his talk to the Ananthapuri Hindu Maha Sammelan in the district that Muslim-owned restaurants employed a specific drop that induces impotence.

He claimed Muslims were attempting to conquer the country through sterilisation of males and women (of other religions).

He stated that Muslims were attempting to expand their population, whereas Hindu and Christian women were hesitant to have additional children. “Both Hindu and Christian women should have a minimum of four children. Whenever I attend a wedding, I inform the newlywed couple of the following: “‘He stated.

According to Firos’ complaint, which was uploaded on Facebook, George made a conscious attempt to denigrate the Muslim community and sow divisions in Kerala.

“In his address, he made severe and inaccurate claims. They will cast distrust on the Muslim community and create a schism between Muslims and people of other religions “‘He stated. He attempted to charge George with violating IPC 153A and other applicable provisions of the law.

Shafi Parambil and V T Balram, both members of the Congress, had already spoken out against George.
