Mahindra’s recent trend of announcing a product around Independence Day continues with this announcement. Mahindra introduced the new Thar on August 15, 2020, and the new XUV700 on August 14, 2021, and both mainstream products have contributed significantly to the brand’s sales.

  • Could be shown in India at the upcoming Auto Expo 2022
  • Unveiling to take place in Mahindra’s design studio in UK

Mahindra unveiled the first teaser image of its upcoming born electric SUV line-up of three SUVs in February of this year. A teaser for the interior of these concepts was released in March of this year.

The models have distinct C-shaped LED signatures on the front and rear, with slight variations between models. For all three models, Mahindra revealed a minimalistic design with a dual-screen setup for instrumentation and infotainment duties, as well as a rotary dial in the center console.

These vehicles would be a compact SUV, a midsize SUV, and an SUV coupe, and as “Born Electric” vehicles, they would be all-new models rather than EV derivatives of ICE-powered models. The SUV Coupe concept could be a preview for the XUV900 coupe, the midsize SUV could sit alongside the XUV700, and the smallest SUV concept could be a preview for a brand-new compact electric SUV concept, as we previously reported.
