Navjot Singh Sidhu On Security Breach: PM is Insulting Punjabiyat, Know Why

Navjot Singh Sidhu, a Congress lawmaker, lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, accusing him of demeaning Punjabiyat by claiming that his life is in danger. Sidhu was reacting to the security breakdown that occurred during the Prime Minister’s visit to Punjab, and he described it as a “huge farce and drama.”

Sidhu claimed that PM Modi is attempting to rescue himself from embarrassment by blaming the blunder on the BJP. “The Prime Minister is attempting to shield himself from embarrassment… When 70,000 persons were expected, only 500 (public) showed up.”

He questioned whether Punjab Police is in charge of the Prime Minister’s security. Many central agencies, he claims, are also complicit in the security breakdown.

The announcement comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab on Wednesday was disrupted by a security breach. According to the ministry, the PM was stopped on a flyover for about 20 minutes when the road was blocked by demonstrators.

The security breach was blamed on the Punjab administration by some BJP leaders, while others said it was coordinated by Congress leaders in Delhi.

Navjot Singh Sidhu said that the event was staged to destabilise the state’s peace in order to get votes during state elections. He also called Captain Amarinder Singh a BJP’caged parrot,’ adding that the party has many such parrots in Punjab.

Sindhu stated that every Punjabi will fight until his last breath to safeguard the country. He further stated that PM Modi is not only a member of the BJP, but also of the entire country.
