Narappa telugu movie story
Narappa is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language motion drama film directed by Srikkanth Addala. A remake of the Tamil language film Asuran (2019), which itself is mostly based on Poomani’s novel Vekkai, the film stars Venkatesh, Priyamani and Karthik Ratnam. It is called Kalaipuli S. Produced collectively by Thanu and D. Suresh Babu under their respective banners V. Creations and Suresh Productions. Filming began in January 2020. Mani Sharma composed the music of the film. The film will premiere on 20 July 2021 on Amazon Prime Video
In November 2019, Srikkanth Addala confirmed that he may direct the Telugu remake of Asuran, with Venkatesh enjoying titular status. The title was revealed in January 2020 as Narappa. The film marks Venkatesh and Srikanth Addala’s second collaboration after working in the 2013 family drama film Seethamma Vakitallo Sirimalle Chettu. Venkatesh plays the role of Narappa, who belongs to an oppressed caste from Anantapuram, Andhra Pradesh. Like Asuran, Venkatesh plays a man in his mid-40s. Priyamani was solid as Sundaramma and Kartik Ratnam as Munikanna, enjoying Narappa’s wife and elder son respectively.
The main photographs of the film began on 22 January 2020 at Palaturu village near Uravakonda in Anantapur district. For the sake of authenticity, the first schedule was to be shot in Rayalaseema region. The film team then moved to Tamil Nadu to film some action sequences, and completed it in March 2020, before the COVID-19 lockdown in India. These scenes have been shot in Kurumalai, Theri Kadu (Teri Dune Complex), Tirunelveli and various areas of Tamil Nadu under the supervision of Motion Director Peter Hein.
Filming has been suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was reported that the shooting of the film would be resumed in October 2020. Later, it was confirmed that filming would resume on 9 November 2020 in Hyderabad, with Venkatesh being part of the filming for 5 days. Till now the film has completed 80 percent shooting. By the end of January 2021, the photographic work was completed. Venkatesh completed his dubbing work in May 2021, during the second wave of lockdown
The film was scheduled to release on 14 May 2021, but was postponed due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India. On 29 June 2021 it was announced that the film has received U/A certification from the Central Board of Movie Certification. The film is finally scheduled for a digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 20 July 2021, excluding its theatrical launch.[1] This launch date was introduced on 10 July 2021.
Regarding the launch of the film on Amazon Prime Video, producer Suresh Babu commented that “The core message of the film can be very effective. It doesn’t shy away from the truth. I’m sure it’s going to be affected in ways no one would have expected. I am very comfortable that we are able to show our film to audiences in 240 countries and territories” (Source of story – Wikipedia)
