Around lunchtime, the accident happened near Narkhed village on the Multai-Prabhatpattan road, around 65 kilometres from the district headquarters.

“A truck coming from the opposite way collided with a private passenger bus travelling from Prabhatpattan to Multai. Following the incident, both vehicles flipped “Sunil Lata, the in-charge of the Multai police station, said.

Six people perished on the spot, including the bus driver, and roughly 25 people were injured, five of them critically. According to him, the five severely injured passengers were transported to Warud, Maharashtra, for treatment.

Bus driver Sheikh Rashid (65), Chhaya Patil (40), Sunil Piparde (45), Bhimrao Dhote (60), Devraj Pandole (60), and Tejasvi (19) were among those killed, he said. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, expressed his sorrow over the occurrence and stated he has asked officials to ensure that the injured receive medical treatment and that every assistance to the deceased’s relatives is offered.
