Maruti Suzuki is about to bring its Fronx and 5 Door Jimny SUVs in the market. However, the popularity of both these cars is increasing even before the launch. According to the latest report, 38 thousand bookings of both these cars have been crossed. In this, Maruti Suzuki Franks has received 15,000 bookings, while Jimny has received 23,000 bookings. Both the cars were unveiled on January 12 at the Auto Expo 2023. Their booking started on the same day. It is being claimed in many reports that both the SUVs can be launched on the same day. This can happen in the first or second week of April. The Maruti Fronx could be priced between Rs 6.75 lakh to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of Maruti Jimny can be between Rs 9 lakh to Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom). There are five variants of Frons – Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha. There are only two variants of the Jimny – Zeta and Alpha.

Maruti Franks features LED multi-reflector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED rear combination lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, 9-inch Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, automatic climate control, turn-by- Head-up display with turn navigation, 360-degree view camera, wireless charger, over 40 connectivity features, six airbags, ESP with hill hold assist and rollover mitigation, and ABS with EBD and brake assist.

The Jimny gets LED headlamps with washers, electrically adjustable ORVMs, 15-inch alloy wheels, 9-inch Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system with HD display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Arkamys surround sound system, automatic climate control, cruise control. Control, 6 airbags, brake limited slip differential, electronic stability program, hill hold assist, hill descent control, rearview camera and ABS with EBD.

The Maruti Fronx gets two engine options – 1.2-litre Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol (90PS/113Nm) and 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet petrol (100PS/148Nm). There are 5-speed and 5-speed AMT options with the 1.2L engine, while the 1.0L engine gets 5-speed MT and 6-speed AT options.

The Jimny gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine (103PS/134Nm), which can be mated to a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed AT. The SUV gets Suzuki’s ALLGRIP PRO 4WD technology with low-range transfer gear (4L mode) as standard.
