Man Risks Jail Time After He Spent Money Meant For Covid Relief on A Lamborghini Urus.

Under the Paycheck Protection Program, the Texan received $2.6 million. The cash was intended to finance his three firms’ salaries.
Instead, the emergency money were used to pay off personal debts, stripclubs, and the purchase of a Lamborghini Urus and a Ford F-350.

The decision to acquire a Lamborghini is typically straightforward, with only two options: you can afford it or you can’t. There was, however, a third option for a man from Houston, Texas. He allegedly used emergency cash he received as part of a low-interest arrangement during Covid times to buy a luxury Lamborghini Urus instead of paying his three companies’ payrolls.

According to the Associated Press, Lee Price III said he needed $2.6 million from the Paycheck Protection Program to pay the salaries of his three companies’ employees. However, temptation is a sin, and Price is accused of using the monies to pay off a personal mortgage, buy a Rolex watch, and indulge at strip clubs before buying a Lamborghini Urus for $233,000 with the money. With the money, he also purchased a $85,000 Ford F-350 truck

Price’s mistake led to his imprisonment in August of last year, so the drive in either of the two new automobiles was quite brief. He later pleaded guilty to wire fraud and money laundering crimes and was sentenced to zero months in prison.

However, Price’s case is far from unique, since other such incidents have been documented in the past. It’s possible that funds allocated under various programmes to help individuals and businesses cope with the Covid problem were not always disbursed as intended. A man from California is said to have purchased a Ferrari, a Lamborghini Aventador S, and a Bentley Continental GT with money he received as part of an emergency fund.
