Mahindra will also equip it with a mild-hybrid start-stop system to help it meet CAFE targets by reducing CO2 emissions. It will also assist owners in keeping track of their vehicle’s fuel consumption while it is idling.

The XUV300 Sportz is expected to come in three sub-variants: W6, W8, and W8(O), with similar equipment levels as the top-spec variants with the standard engine. To name a few features, it would have 17-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, auto headlamps and wipers, ESP, all-wheel disc brakes, dual-zone climate control, and cruise control.

While no specific launch dates have been announced, the fact that the authorising agency has certified it suggests that it will happen soon. The XUV300 Sportz will compete against the Hyundai Venue N Line, a sportier version of the Venue compact SUV that will debut on June 16, 2022.
