Mahindra Xuv300 is coming to the fore that will take on the Tata Nexon and the Maruti Brezza

The Mahindra XUV300 could get a more powerful 1.2-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine in addition to the exterior changes.

Update on the launch of the Mahindra Xuv300: For a long time, subcompact SUVs have been hot sellers in the Indian car market, and automakers are paying close attention to this segment. In this segment, Mahindra sells the XUV300, which was a strong competitor for the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon. This car, which was released in February 2019, is currently undergoing a facelift, and testing images have been leaked on the internet.

It’s possible that the design will be similar to the Mahindra Xuv700.

For the first time, a spy image of the updated XUV300 test mule has surfaced, with the car’s rear clearly visible. It’s difficult to comment on the prototype’s exterior design, but we can speculate that it will have a more appealing front end than the current model, as well as redesigned taillamps. If the rumours are true, the design of this vehicle will be inspired by the XUV700. In addition, the new Mahindra logo will be included.

A powerful engine will be installed.

Along with the exterior, the car’s hood is expected to undergo significant changes. The Mahindra XUV300, for example, could get a more powerful 1.2-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine with 130bhp and 230Nm of peak torque. This engine made its debut alongside the XUV300 Sportz concept at the 2020 AutoExpo. In addition, the 1.5-litre diesel engine, which produces 117 PS of power and 300 Nm of peak torque, is likely to be retained. Both engine options are likely to be paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed AMT transmission.

Features have been updated.

If we look at the features, we can see that the interior of the Xuv300 has been upgraded as well. A new touchscreen infotainment display with a new software interface will be the most noticeable update. Simultaneously, it may include some features similar to the Visteon-sourced AdrenoX infotainment suite introduced in the premium XUV700. Mahindra has confirmed that the XUV300 facelift will be available in the market by FY 2022-23. This means the updated SUV could hit the market by the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
