The image, which was shared on social media, shows the new generation Scorpio on the road, carefully wrapped in camouflage. It does, however, reveal a new set of LED taillights as one of the new features expected in the SUV.

According to previous spy shots, the Scorpio will receive a slew of design changes, including LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a new grille, and a slew of technical upgrades inside the cabin, including a sunroof, leather seats, and electrically adjustable front seats, among other things.

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be built on Mahindra’s new ladder-on-frame platform, which it will share with its Thar SUV sibling.

When the new Scorpio is released, it is expected to include four-wheel drive as well as other trim levels.

In terms of powertrains, Mahindra is expected to offer both petrol and diesel options for the new Scorpio. Mahindra is expected to use the same 2.0-litre turbocharged engine as the Thar SUV for petrol models. The engine is capable of producing 130 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque, and will most likely be mated to both six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

Despite the introduction of the new generation Scorpio, Mahindra has previously stated that the current generation Scorpio will not be discontinued.
