Mahindra Scorpio 2022 coming by the end of this year

Mahindra Scorpio is expected to be introduced around the time of the festive season in India.

  • The all-new model will feature a completely redesigned exterior, new interiors, and all-new mechanicals.

The new Mahindra Scorpio has been spotted yet again while taking part in a public road test ahead of its expected launch in mid-2022. This is the second time the car has been spotted. The launch of the all-new SUV, as well as the announcement of its pricing, is expected to take place around the holiday season.

This new spy image of a Mahindra Scorpio test mule reveals that it was equipped with a regular-sized sunroof, which is visible in the previous spy images. Previous sightings have also provided us with a glimpse of the 2022 Scorpio, which will feature a panoramic sunroof, more information on which can be found here.

Even though there hasn’t been any official confirmation, we expect the Mahindra Scorpio to come equipped with a standard-sized sunroof at launch, with a panoramic unit possibly arriving later as part of the model’s facelift in 2022. Another set of noteworthy details captured by spy photographers include the iconic multi-slat grille, LED headlamps, fog lights, a wide air dam, dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, an integrated spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp, new front and rear bumpers, vertically stacked LED tail lights, a rear wiper and washer, and a number plate recess in the tailgate.

A large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, captain seats for the second row, cruise control, steering-mounted controls for the new 3-spoke steering wheel, and an engine start-stop button are expected to be standard on the inside of the Mahindra Scorpio’s upcoming generation.

It is possible that the Mahindra Scorpio’s 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engine and the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine will be used to power the next-generation vehicle. Transmission options such as a six-speed manual and an automatic unit are expected to be available at the time of launch.
