Last 12 months on December 14, the Maharashtra authorities tabled the Shakti Bill, pertaining to the prevention of incidents of violence and atrocities towards girls and kids within the state.
Notably, the Shakti Bill was drafted on traces of Andhra Pradesh’s Disha Act. The Bill was launched on the primary day of the two-day particular Assembly Session known as to cross the legislation pertaining to the protection of ladies and kids.
The Disha Act 2019, permits stringent punishment for crimes dedicated towards girls and permits the dying penalty for rape and reduces the judgment interval in such instances to 21 working days.
