The BGauss D15 is available in two models: D15i and D15 Pro, both of which cost Rs 500. Beginning in June, deliveries will be made.
The D15 Electric scooter has been released by BGauss India. The BGauss D15 comes in two flavors: D15i and D15Pro. The D15i has a single lithium-ion battery, whereas the latter has an additional valve regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery.
BGauss D15: Battery and Motor
The BGauss D15 is powered by a hub-mounted 3.1kW PMSM motor with a peak torque of 110Nm. Eco, Sport, and Reverse are the three modes available. In Sport mode, according to BGauss, the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in 7 seconds and reach a top speed of 60 kilometers per hour. In Eco mode, the top speed is reduced to 50 kilometers per hour.
The removable, IP67-rated 3.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack in the BGauss D15i variant takes 5 hours and 30 minutes to reach 100% charge, while charging up to 80% takes 4 hours. The battery can be fully charged in 1 hour and 30 minutes with the use of an optional fast charger.
The scooter has a 115-kilometer range on a single charge, according to ARAI.
While the BGauss D15 Pro has the same lithium-ion battery and charging times as the D15i, it also has a secondary VRLA battery.
Design and Features of The BGauss D15
With a round headlight, a compact front apron, and almost flat side panels, the BGauss D15 has a retro-style design. According to BGauss, the scooter has a full metal body for increased sturdiness and durability.
A tubular steel chassis sits beneath the bodywork, with a telescopic fork in front and three-step adjustable twin shock absorbers in the rear. The scooter is equipped with 16-inch wheels and drum brakes on both ends with CBS.
The scooter comes with all-LED lights and smartphone connectivity, which includes features like remote immobilization, firmware updates, geo fencing, incoming call alert, navigation, and more.
Price and Availability for The BGauss D15
The BGauss D15i costs Rs 1 lakh, while the D15 Pro is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi, after FAME II subsidies). Customers can reserve the scooter online or at any BGauss dealership for Rs 500. The first deliveries are expected to begin in June. The scooter comes with a three-year/36,000-kilometer warranty from the manufacturer.
