The match between Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City FC had to be postponed due to the latter’s inability to field a sufficient number of players.
The match between Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) has been postponed. The 62nd match was set to take place at Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco on January 16, 2022. The League will attempt to reschedule the game at a later time.
After it was determined that Kerala Blasters do not have the required number of players available for the encounter, the decision was made in collaboration with the League’s medical team.
The League will work closely with medical professionals to monitor and assure the safety of all players, support workers, and those engaged in the squad.
Some ISL games, like ATK Mohun Bagan’s match against Bengaluru FC on Saturday, had already been postponed hours before kickoff. This was ATKMB’s second match in a row to be rescheduled.
Their match against Odisha FC had been postponed earlier due to an anonymous player testing positive for COVID-19.
Four ATKMB players were reported to be positive in the bio-secure bubble, and the Juan Ferrando-coached team was imprisoned in their rooms for a week without a single training session.
Other teams, including as FC Goa, Bengaluru FC, and Odisha FC, were also infected with the coronavirus, while SC East Bengal was forced to isolate after hotel personnel inside the bio bubble tested positive.
