JugJugg Jeeyo, a forthcoming film by Karan Johar, has generated much excitement. However, the film has recently been embroiled in controversy after a writer named Vishal A Singh claimed Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions plagiarized his Bunny Rani storyline for JugJugg Jeeyo.
Vishal uploaded screenshots on Twitter, alleging that he had forwarded excerpts of his script to the production company. However, without his knowledge, the picture was produced. A Ranchi commercial court has reportedly ordered the screening of JugJugg Jeeyo before to its June 24 release.
JUGJUGG JEEYO WILL BE SCREENED BEFORE RELEASE IN RANCHI COURT.
Shortly after the Jug Jugg Jeeyo trailer was released, the film became embroiled in controversy. Vishal A. Singh, a writer, said that he forwarded Dharma Productions excerpts from his Bunny Rani script. While he did receive a response from the production company, Singh said that Dharma changed his script into the film JugJugg Jeeyo. A copyright infringement lawsuit has been filed against the film by Ranchi-based author Vishal Singh.
A court in Ranchi has now ordered the film’s screening prior to its June 24 release. Reports indicate that following the court screening, judge M C Jha will continue the arguments and determine whether or not the film breaches the Copyright Act. Karan Johar and his Dharma team have not yet responded to the situation.
