J&K: The Indian Army Saves 17 Hikers From a Snowdrift Near Vishansar Lake

On Thursday, the Indian Army helped 17 trekkers who were trapped by bad weather and heavy snowfall close to Vishansar Lake in Sonamarg, Jammu and Kashmir.

On Thursday, the Indian Army helped 17 hikers who were stranded due to bad weather and heavy snowfall near Vishansar Lake in Sonamarg, Jammu and Kashmir.

The hikers were on the well-known Seven Lake trek. A number of lakes, including Vishansar Lake, Krishansar Lake, Gadsar Lake, Harmukh Peak, and Gangabal Twin Lakes, are traversed during the Himalayan trek in the valley.

According to the press release, it took 12 hours of nonstop patrolling in treacherous terrain for the search and rescue operation to safely evacuate everyone.

The visitors were then returned to the camp. The trekkers who had been saved expressed gratitude to the Indian Army.
