Vardy, who turns 35 this month, had been suffering from a hamstring problem since the EFL Carabao Cup loss to Liverpool in December. For the Boxing Day match against Manchester City, the striker was rested. Vardy’s injury is worse than first thought, despite the fact that he won’t need surgery.

Patson Daka, meanwhile, has suffered an injury and will miss the African Cup of Nations. Kelechi Iheanacho is representing Nigeria at the AFCON.
