IND vs NZ: Shubhaman Gill’s half century, a great start for the India team!



India won the toss and elected to bat in the first Test of the ongoing Test series at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Shreyas Iyer has been handed his first Test cap.

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh): India lost their first wicket against New Zealand in the first Test with the help of Shubhaman Gill (52 *) despite losing his first number of wickets.

India won the toss at Green Park Stadium and got off to a good start by scoring 82 for 29 in their first innings.

Mayank Agarwal, who got into the opener with Shubhaman Gill, scored 13 runs off 28 balls. However, Kyle Jamison caught the wicketkeeper in the delivery. India lost the first wicket quickly when the team was 21 runs.


Shubhaman Gill Half-century: Shubman Gill, who had been batting from the beginning on the other end, completed his half-century by lunch break on the first day of the first Test. He has batted an unbeaten 52 off 87 balls with a big six and five boundaries. Cheteshwar Pujara, on the other hand, remains unbeaten on 15.

Speaking after winning the toss, Ajinkya Rahane said, “The wicket here looks good and we bat first. The pitch is looking good for the bat and will be slow to slow down. I am happy to play under the new coaching staff, especially under Rahul Bhai. Shreyas Iyer has announced that he will be inducted into the Test in the absence of senior players.
Shreyas Iyer, who has made a remarkable presence in India’s limited-overs side, made his international debut in the first Test against New Zealand. Skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant have been given the opportunity to play their first Test in the absence of key players.
