According to an officer, the head-on collision between the Shahpur-bound tempo and the Medininagar-bound truck occurred near Koel Bridge in the Chainpur police station area.

Mufid Ansari, the tempo driver, died on the spot, according to him, while his three other passengers and an equal number of bystanders were injured.

Locals were furious and blocked the bridge for three hours until police persuaded them to lift it.

He added that the six injured people are no longer in danger, and that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
