INTRODUCTION OF HOLI
Holi is a festival in celebration of spring. Holi is also known as the yoga forest of spring. Even among our ancestors, the Holi festival was considered a symbol of mutual love. Holi is a festival of color and color is synonymous with Anand. The beauty of nature is also beautiful during the spring season. When the whole of nature and the lake is transformed, then human beings also enjoy the joy of Holi.
Every festival celebrated in India has a special purpose. Holi festival also has a special purpose. Holi’s story is based on the victory of good over evil.
PREPARATION FOR HOLI FESTIVAL
On this day, people wake up early in the morning and take colors, go to their relatives and friends’ house and play Holi with them and in the market, this festival starts to appear 15 days in advance.
Colorful pitchers, various colors, balloons, are seen selling at different places. Nowadays, people buy different kinds of spectacles and colorful fake hair on Holi and have fun on the day of Holi.

STORY OF HOLI :
Prahlada, a devotee of Lord Shri Hari, whose father’s name was Hiranyakashyap. Hiranyakashipa considered himself a king and started considering himself as a god. He did not like anyone who believed in Lord Shri Vishnu.
Hiranyakashyap’s son Prahlada, who was an ardent devotee of Lord Shri Vishnu, when everyone came to know that he tried hard to stop his son Prahlad to believe that Vishnu was Lord, but Prahlad said directly that Shri Hari Ji is everything and this Shri Vishnu Ji is the abiding soul of the world. So Hiranyakashyap did not like this and tried hard to kill his son Prahlad.
Sometimes stones were thrown in the sea and sometimes in boiling oil, but Shri Vishnu Ji protected his devotee Prahlada. Such Hiranyakashyap called his younger sister Holika and said that this time in HolikaDahan, you have the blessing of Lord Shiva by taking with you at night that no fire will be able to do anything to you but nothing like this happened.
He got a boon from over Holika and fell on Prahlad’s head and Prahlad survived but Holika got burnt and this practice continues to this day.
Holika is burnt every year in Phalgun month and the Holi festival is celebrated the next day. On Holi, all schools, colleges, government offices, all types of offices get a holiday. On Holiday everyone forgets all kinds of discrimination and hatred and start a new friendship.
HOLI PUJA VIDHI :
Before HolikaDahan, proper worship is to be done and an auspicious time is observed for the burning then Holika is given fire.
On this day, keep water, flower garland, rice jaggery, and earrings of new ripe crop plants for worship. During the auspicious time of HolikaDahan, four garlands are offered to Holika. After this, Holika should be revolved three or seven times.
According to the scriptures, HolikaDahan should be done on the full moon date during PradoshKaal, and keep in mind that during the Bhadra period, HolikaDahan should not be done during this time. HolikaDahan is not considered auspicious during Bhadrakala.
To worship Holika, eight days before Holi, the place of HolikaDahan is purified with Ganga water, and dry wood, dry Khas, dry dung, and Holi sticks are installed in it.
The day this work is done, the day is also called Holashtak commencement day. No auspicious work is done till HolikaDahan in the respective areas of the place where Holi Danda is installed.
After that, every day from Holashtak to HolikaDahan is collected and put into wood. In this way, a pile of wood is formed before the HolikaDahan. Then all the residents of the locality and the village do HolikaDahan and wish for a good life and the children’s circle starts playing Holi.
On this auspicious festival of Holi which is celebrated for 5 days, Holi festival is celebrated in everyone’s houses by making sweets, thali, pakoras, kheer, whole vegetable, bhaji-shrikhand, and Puran-Poli.
METHODS Of CELEBRATING HOLI :
Holi festival is celebrated in different ways in different states. Holi is mainly celebrated for 2 days, on the first day Holika is lit, which is called HolikaDahan, and on the second-day people apply color, abir to each other. There is a dance song, Holi songs are sung by playing drums.
The second day is also known as Dhulendi, the program of applying color and singing to each other lasts till noon, after which people like to take a bath and relax and then go to each other’s house in the evening wearing new clothes.
In India, one sees Holi of Mathura and Vrindavan. The festival lasts for about 25 days here. Here the Lathmar Holi of Brij is prevalent not only in India but in the whole world in which men paint colors on women, women use them with sticks.
HOLI IS A FESTIVAL OF VARIOUS DISHES :

3. Gujiya is a special dish in this sweet which is made from milk.

WHAT NOT TO DO ON HOLI?
Holi is a festival of happiness, but I am going to tell you some things about Holi which are very worth knowing.
On behalf of the water department, it has been reported that many liters of water gets wasted on Holi, and this time it is to be so, please do not use water as much as possible on Holi and celebrate Holi with Gulal, etc.
On the day of Holi, do not drive a vehicle, drink alcohol, etc. On this day, celebrating Holi only means sharing happiness, but due to some mistake, someone else’s house has to suffer.
