A 67-year-old man died of the virus in Shimla on Monday, according to a health department official.
Active Covid cases in Himachal Pradesh increased to 776 from 755 on Sunday, according to state health department data. On Monday, 90 people recovered, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 2,23,001.
So far, 2,27,630 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the state. The total number of people killed was 3,836.
BJP national president J P Nadda congratulated Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and frontline workers for making the state the first in the country to fully vaccinate 100% of its adult population against COVID-19 at a programme in Bilaspur on Sunday.
According to a state government official, the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine was given to 53,86,393 eligible adults on Sunday. By the end of August, Himachal Pradesh had become the first state to achieve 100% first-dose vaccination of the adult population.
